 Lab Testing

At Healthy Being Wellness Boutique we strongly believe that appropriate testing (blood, urine, saliva and stool) is crucial in determining the other half of the equation - that is what is going wrong physiologically within the body and not allowing the body to function optimally, once we collect all your clinical symptoms, which is the first part of the equation.

Through preventive screening, scientifically based laboratory tests also aid in the early detection of potentially fatal conditions, and in so doing, lead to early treatment. In short, lab tests can help both to save lives and to improve the quality of life.

Healthy Being Wellness Boutique offers you a variety of health tests that will not only help us assess areas of imbalance more accurately, but also help us understand the exact root of your underlying symptoms. In working with our Naturopathic trained Holistic Nutritionist, we will determine what clinical lab tests would be ideal of a proper diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of conditions and diseases.

We use SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc., a specialized clinical testing laboratory company. SpectraCell has become the premier provider of tests for identifying subclinical nutritional deficiencies. These laboratories are world renowned for their high quality testing, providing increased accuracy and sensitivity with test results and take into account the individual’s symptoms.

We offer specialized testing in the following areas:

Nutrient Assessment
MicroNutrient testing is an innovative assessment of a patient’s nutritional status.  Nutrient testing is a clinically effective diagnostic tool for the prevention and management of chronic disease conditions. There is overwhelming evidence confirming that nutrient deficiencies have been shown to suppress immune function contributing to chronic disease process including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis and Alzheimer's.

Over 31 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants are evaluated. Even if you are eating a "balanced” or healthy diet and taking supplements, your body could still lack vital and necessary nutrition. These tests help you understand your individual diet needs by evaluating their overall nutritional status, assessing their functional need for vitamins and minerals, and providing recommendations for supplementation.

Cardiovascular Testing

Lipoprotein Particle Profile™ is the most advanced lipoprotein particle test available. Cholesterol testing has historically been used as the standard indicator for cardiovascular disease classified as HDL (good) or LDL (bad). However, it is actually the lipoprotein particles that carry the cholesterol throughout the body, not necessarily the cholesterol within them, that are responsible for key steps in plaque production and the resulting development of cardiovascular disease. Now there is an advanced cholesterol testing technology which accurately measures both the density and number of lipoprotein particles. Measuring the lipoprotein subgroups is the only way to evaluate new risk factors, which is crucial for an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk – according to the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP).

Aspirin Response Test (ART) Measures levels of 11-dehydro thromboxane b2 to determine aspirin resistance for patients on aspirin therapy. 25% of patients on aspirin therapy receive little or no benefit.

Aging Assessment

Telomere Testing.  A Telomere Test can determine the length of a patient's telomeres in relation to the patient's age.Telomeres are sections of genetic material at the end of each chromosome whose primary function is to prevent chromosomal “fraying” when a cell replicates. As a cell ages, its telomeres become shorter. Eventually, the telomeres become too short to allow cell replication, the cell stops dividing and will ultimately die - a normal biological process. SpectraCell’s Telomere Test can determine the length of a patient’s telomeres in relation to the patient’s age

Chemistry Tests. This group of (serum) tests consists of protein, albumin, prealbumin, iron, TIBC and ferritin, and offers a valuable complement to our comprehensive tests (white cell) for vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids.
